James Young
James P. Young is Sr. Director of Engineering responsible for RFIC and PA product design at the Skyworks Solutions Inc. Design Center in Cedar Rapids, IA. During the spin-off of Skyworks from Conexant and Conexant from Rockwell international, James held positions of manager of the RFIC design group within Conexant and was the RFIC section manager in the Advanced Technology Division of Rockwell Collins. He has designed RF and microwave radios since 1977 and RFICs since 1984. He was Co-author of the fist single chip radio in 1987 and since then has worked on a variety of highly integrated mixed signal receivers and exciters in CMOS, BiCMOS, Bipolar and GaAs technologies. His RFIC wireless designs have targeted satellite receivers such as GPS, two way paging, SATCOM, Cellular, and cordless phone systems. His background is extensive in integrated circuit design techniques and radio architectures. He holds six patents, has published several papers and taught several short courses within this field.
